Indic Language Activities and Events
Yearly events:
Multi Cultural Day
Indian Summer Mela
These events are open to everyone unless specified as some of our activities are for specific age groups. Occasionally dual language story telling sessions are arranged in libraries. We also visit schools for story telling and activity sessions to introduce students to cultural diversity and to promote children’s activities and books in other languages. Parental/carer supervision required for all children's activities conducted in the library.

Film director Dr Jabbar Patel from India
People of all ages had the opportunity to talk to renowned Indian theatre/film director Dr Jabbar Patel. He gave a free informal talk about the Marathi theatre and film industry and his experimental work in this field.
The free event had been jointly arranged by Suffolk Libraries and the ICON project of CSV Media Clubhouse at very short notice when it was realised that Dr Patel was in Ipswich.
The audience from Ipswich and Kesgrave had the opportunity to ask him questions about themes and characters in his films. It was a lively and informal evening and Dr Jabbar Patel has promised another visit when he is next in Ipswich.
